Creating a Container

    Question

  • Hello Again,

Sorry for sort of flooding the forums, but Im having an issue creating a Container for my authority.

I am running the example code given in :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-au/library/cc512400.aspx

    I get the error:
The remote name could not be resolved: 'markmacumber.data.beta.mssds.com'

So I thought my authority wasn't created correctly, so I ran the sample code to create the authority again, and I get the error:

The remote server returned an error: (409) Conflict
    Authority 'markmacumber' already exists.

So I know that it does exist...

Does anyone know why this might be??

    Thanks!

Glad that worked. It's proly some small thing in the code.

Yeah, the client is totally open source. You can download it along with several other small projects at the Codeplex space or my Google SVN space. Links are on the landing page for my SSDS stuff @ http://amundsen.com/ssds/

As a simple test, try logging in via my SSDS Provisioning Client and creating the container.  If that works, then it's proly something in the sample code or the connection. If it fails, then there's something else going wrong.

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks a lot, that did actually work. So I guess its the code thats the problem, I dont have it with me at the moment, but Im pretty sure it was the exact code from the link I posted, but with obvious changes to the authority, user/pass etc...

I will try again tonight, and if I cannot get it to work, then I will report back.

Your client is open source isnt it Mike? I could take a look at the differences and report back as well...

  • Well I have no idea what is going on, but I re-tried the EXACT same code and it worked, so go figure... maybe it was a caching issue or something on the server side.
