How to minimize the shared drive's name in a file path for inserting into the footer in Excel 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey there,

I want to know how to shorten the drive's name for the file path that I want to add into the footer of a worksheet in Excel 2010. The worksheet is saved in a shared N: drive for company use. The description of this drive in the footer used to show as "N:\" in the front of the file path , however, it now appears as "\\NAS141AC3\shared_folder" which is its full name of the drive.

So is there a way to change the description of this drive back to "N:\" from "\\NAS141AC3\shared_folder" ? For your reference, I've attached scanned historical file and the current result on this site: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/166098/how-to-minimize-the-shared-drive39s-name-in-a-file.html
