Could not create code from WSDL....which is valid. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.

I have an issue with creation an proxy from Adobe Sitecatalyst WSDL file. It should valid according to some test tools but could not be imported in Visual Studio as a Service Reference.

Get the following error message (and some additional):

    Error: Cannot import wsdl:binding
Detail: There was an error importing a wsdl:portType that the wsdl:binding is de
    pendent on.
    XPath to wsdl:portType: //wsdl:definitions[@targetNamespace='']/wsdl:portType[@name='AdobeAnalyticsServicePortTyp
    XPath to Error Source: //wsdl:definitions[@targetNamespace='http://marketing.ado']/wsdl:binding[@name='AdobeAnalyticsServiceBinding']

The WSDL can be downloaded here:

I tried much things I found in the web like disable reusing types but nothing helps. Also tried it in VS2012 .NET 4.0 down to VS2008.

Perhaps somebody can tell me what is going wrong.

    Thanks a lot,

  • Hi. The WSDL provided by Adobe is valid, but has a typing mistake. As the error message shows a string type is linked to the wrong namespace. Was not easy to find in the file. Thanks a lot Nils
