Formatting MathType objects in MS Office RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created a sample equation using MathType and MS Office converts it to a Windows Metafile Object.

I am trying to understand how MS Office is formatting the WMF Equation.DSMT4 objects because when I try to parse the WMF, I do not get the expression in an appropriate notation. I want to understand the notation that MS Office is using to format these MathType objects like infix, postfix or prefix or something else.

For Eg : My sample equation is x = y + z*b/100 and the order in which I get the Strings in WMF is "*/100", "xyzb" and "=+".

Another example : equation is z = x/100*200+g and the order in which I get the strings in WMF are "/100*200" , "zxg" and "=+".

When I unzip the document I created and look into the media, I do get a correctly formatted WMF.

Could somebody help me with the rules for formatting these objects?
