Display Descripyion in Navigation Pane RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Access 2003 I can choose the Details view for the Database window and see whatever I entered in the Description box in the Properties dialog box for a Table, query, or whatever.

I haven't found a way to do the same thing in the Access 2020 Navigation pane. I hope so because in a complex data base that has many tables, queries, etc., it's very helpful to have the additional Description information available in order to keep track of all the Access objects.

Is there a way to display the Description text in the Access 2010 Navigation pane?

  • Right-click on the top of the Navigation Pane, select "View By" and then choose "Details" in order to see the object descriptions.

  • True.

Additionally, you can add information to display in this view. Right click on the object (Table, Query, etc.), select properties at the bottom of the list, below type is a description box where you add your information.

Once you apply this it will display in the view by details for the navigation pane listed above.
