VSIP support in Visual Studio Code

    Question

  • As per https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/editor/versioncontrol, Visual Studio Code supports only GIT as version control system from within the editor. Are there any ways to integrate Visual Studio Code with 3rd party SCM solutions which support VSIP or MSSCCI ?

  • Hi Vinita,

    >>I would want to know if there are any plans in future to enhance Visual Studio Code Editor, to support 3rd party integrations via VSIP/MSSCCI.

Sorry for that I also didn't get any latest information from the official site about this request, but if possible, you could submit a feature request for VS code here:

    https://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/293070-visual-studio-code

The Visual Studio code product team is listening to user voice there. You can send your idea there and people can vote.

    Thanks,

    Jack

Actually you know that we didn't support the third party product, so if you really want to know that whether it supports the VS code, we would discuss this issue with the third party site.

In addition, not the SCM solutions expert, whether it is related to the Surround SCM like the following site?

    http://www.seapine.com/knowledgebase/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=752

If so, I think it would support the VS IDE, but not the VS code:

Anyway, if it is not the same third party product, you'd better post this issue to his own support site for the SCM SOLUTIONS.

  • Hello Jack,

We work on an SCM solution which integrates with Visual Studio IDEs using VSIP/MSSCCI. Since Visual Studio Code does not support these and has only GIT support, I would want to know if there are any plans in future to enhance Visual Studio Code Editor, to support 3rd party integrations via VSIP/MSSCCI

    Thanks,Vinita
