About the "exact match" issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Recently, I am trying the "Microsoft Academic" data set in MarketPlace. I found that

    1) the "is equal to" operator in the selection predicate only support exact match instead of *LIKE %k%* style sub-string search. For example, I cannot search the "name“ attribute of table *Author* by authors' last name.

    2) operators other than "is equal to" are useless in this data set.

So, I would like to know, such constraints (e.g., exact match instead of LIKE-style match) are set by data providers or the platform (i.e., Marketplace)? This case may be special since the "Microsoft Academic" data set is provided by Microsoft itself. I wonder, if I want to publish data in marketplace, what kind of constraints I can pose on the querying interface of my data? Is there any document about that?

Thank you very much for any of your help.

    Best regards.
