Photo Acquisition SDK vs WIA RRS feed

  • Question

  • What's the difference between Photo Acquisition SDK and Windows Image Acquisition? A brief glance shows that the Photo sdk is restricted to pictures, but is there any reason why one should prefer one over the other? My application will need to gather images from cameras, scanners, and removable disks.

Answers

  • I would prefer an interface that supports XP, that is WIA. Picture Acquisition SDK is introduced in Vista SDK.
