Does MSDNAA members has same privilege as Technet and MSDN Subscribers? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, Does MSDNAA members has same privilege as Technet and MSDN Subscribers?
If I'm not mistaken, the Windows 8 RTM build will be rolling out for Technet and MSDN Subscribers per 15 August 2012. Does MSDNAA members get this release too?

    Thank you for your attention
    -Willy

  • Dear Willy PT,

Nope, MSDN / Technet is meant for Testing and Development purposes. Whereas MSDN AA (Academic Alliance) is granted only for the Colleges and Schools. Though you can expect Windows 8 Pro in MSDN AA after August 15, 2012.

  • Unmarking your answer Pratha because you're confusing the two different programs Pratha.  TechNet does *not* license Testing or Development purposes, only MSDN does.  TechNet is for evaluation of the software included in TechNet, not for testing other software your company has developed on the software included in TechNet.

MSDNAA is now called DreamSpark, and has its own license terms, separate from MSDN and TechNet.    STudents can find more information about DreamSpark license terms here: https://www.dreamspark.com/Support/Default.aspx

    Thanks,

    Mike
