Server Type 6/5/2006 4:50 AM PST RRS feed

What server type does one need? If I am now on a server with FP extensions,
will I still be able to use it? Do I have to have a server that hosts only
    Sharepoint sites?

EWD will work with your extended server.

And will also work with a non-extended server.

If it were me, I would pick a provider that either supported ASP.NET or
SharePoint rather than continuing to rely on FP. As mentioned by others, it
will work, but it is not the goal of this project and a lot can happen in
    beta.

I wouldn't pick a SharePoint site for working with EWD since Microsoft has
said that all the SharePoint stuff will be dropped from EWD (YEAH) but
asp.net would certainly be a good thing to have.

I am not sure that is the message I got. I know EWD is developer focused and
SPD is info worker focused, but it seems developers work with SharePoint
    too. Just my two cents.

Yeah, overall I would agree that ASP.NET is the better option.

According to a post (which I can't lay my hands on since I'm not sure which
group it was made in) all the SharePoint stuff will be removed from EWD
    before release.
