Install on windows 7 or Azure VM? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We develop for Azure using windows 7 machines. Windows Workflow Manager 1.0 is not available yet in Azure as far as I can tell, and apparently requires a WS 2008 R2 machine for a local installation, which we do not have. What to do? I know there are ways to install Sharepoint in Windows 7, is there anything equivalenty possible for the Workflow Manager or should I just install it on an azure VM?

  • Update: installed and apparently working on Windows 7 with SQL Server 2012. I had to add an additional host name in etc/hosts, first in the list, and without a period in its name. E.g. => myhost

Then just use "myhost" in the config.

And be sure you run all config as admin, of course.
