Hide Logo and Scalebar on WPF Bing Map Control RRS feed

  • Question

  • Question 1: How can I hide the scalebar (I really do not want it in my application) ?

Question 2: I am using Bing maps control, but not using Bing maps at all, I am just using overlay with my custom images. Bing map is set to Mercator mode - not using Bing maps at all.

Control itself is really nicely implemented - good options for adding custom POIs and good rotation support.

I know that "Bing logo/copyright are mandatory overlays on maps".

Does this also apply for my use case - Bing logo must be over my custom images?

  • The Bing Maps terms of use state that you can not remove or hide the Bing Maps logo. It also says states this:

You may not replace aerial imagery from the Services with imagery supplied by any other mapping platform. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may overlay aerial imagery that you have the rights to use, provided that such imagery does not substantially replace the base aerial imagery provided by the Services.

You can find the terms of use here: http://www.microsoft.com/maps/product/terms.html

As for hiding the scalebar, you can set the ScaleVisibility property of the map to hidden.
