It is hard to tell what functionality is causing this and I am not able to reproduce the error locally on pc or tablet. I will see if I can enable low-resource testing environment but I don't think this is the offender. Is this a know issue?

Please have a look at the minidump here.

  • I was able to make the app crash locally by enabling LuaPriv in Application Verifier. If i disable it it does not crash. I am not sure this is the same crash because I am running into an issue where AppVerif can not write logs. Any help? Do certification testers run with LuaPriv? I am trying to figure out how to run Standard User Analyzer on my app, any hints how to do this? My app does write to ApplicationData.Current.RoamingSettings with an implementation of IsolatedStorageHelper I found somewhere. Is this an issue?

  • Hi,

Could you please provide the project that can reproduce the issue?

  • Thanks for the reply. I have provided a link to my project and hope you might have a look at it. I have removed some of the data content, if this changes the behavior I will share a private link to the app as it was last submitted.

    Best regards,

  • Please see the attached minidump in the original post. Previously the Edit and Add functionality was located in separate LayoutAware pages. Certification failure reported that clicking these buttons did not work, i.e. the buttons responded but navigation did not take place. I then redesigned the app so that this functionality is located on the main page, implemented as overlays on the same page. Now they report that the app crashes on startup. Since they previously supplied screenshots of the main screen with data items loaded I do not think deserialization, data size or virtualization of the 200+ items is the offender. I am thinking threading or localization might be hot candidates but I have not been able to reproduce any issues. I have had several people sideload the app for testing.

  • I really hope you are able to find anything. If not I might have to abandon the project as I am running out of leads. I did find one potential fault: The Application.RequestedTheme was set in xaml and I read that only Resources can be set declaratively. Unfortunately if failed certification after changing this. Here is a new minidump, similar to the previous one. What bothers me is that it seems none of my code is being run now. Previously, before i redesigned the Add and Edit-functions the app did run to the main page. In the minidump I see a mention of SearchPaneQueryChangedEventArgs before the crash but I find it hard to relate to the previous malfunction before redesign. And again, why would this not crash on my computers? I might disable the search contract and make another release, as I have no other leads.

Are there any other issues related to running apps on developer caomputers? All the machines I have tested on are, naturally, developer unlocked.
