  • Hi,
Can you provide us the list of packages you had installed ? If you had used an Unattend file, please do attach it.

    Thanks
    Shiv

  • Hi Shiv,

I too have encountered the exact same problem. Has there been a fix or work around? I am using WES7 RTM.

    Thanks,

    Eric

  • I have a somewhat different, but related problem.

The Experience Index will launch, but it fails on the Media Playback portion. I suspect that it is because I do not have a required include in my answer file (which is located here: http://cid-380b176e15f49519.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public ) which is causing the problem.

    WES7 RTM (Eval), 64bit.

    Added Templates:

    • AdobeFlash10_RTM_64bit
    • C++Redistributable2008_RTM_64bit
    • JRE1.5_RTM_64bit
    • Silverlight4_RTM_64bit
    • SQLExpress2008R2_RTM_64bit

Possibly related DirectX/Multimedia "Optional" Dependencies not installed:

    • Microsoft AC3 Encoder
    • Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
    • Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
    • MPEG-2 Audio and Video Encoder
    • MPEG Layer-3 Audio Codecs
    • MPEG-4 Decoders
    • Windows Media Video Codecs

They are not included because I don't recall off the top of my head what it means when it says "License Required" but I'd like to know if they are required for the Experience Index to run properly, at which point they probably shouldn't be optional.

The following "Optional Dependencies" are also not installed:

    • Accessibility
    • Accessories
    • Active Directory Rights Management
    • Embedded Core Help Content
    • Help and Support Engine
    • Microsoft Smartcard Identity Management Driver
    • .NET Framework 3.5
    • .NET Framework 3.5 Client Profile
    • Remote Desktop Connection
    • Smartcard Filter Driver
    • USBCCID Smartcard User-mode Driver
    • Windows Firewall
    • Wireless Networking
