  • Lot's of details.  I just finished going thru stuff this past weekend.
    They have some pretty good documentation up on TechNet to help you thru it.

    click on the "Migrate your Project Server 2003 data using the Virtual Migration Environment (VME).  I think this was a great idea for the conversion versus requiring admins into create all of this.

    You will also need to review the "Database attach full upgrade to Project Server 2010".   That's the next step.

    Basically, Microsoft has set up a Virtual Machine, that you can drop your project 2003 databases into and it does the conversion up to Project 2007. Once that is complete, you detach and reattach the databases to the SQL server 2008 and then create a PWA site using the newly attached databases.

  • Project Profesisonal 2010 cannot connect to Project Server 2003, you will have to upgrade your Project Server instance to 2010.
