Norton 2010 shows explorer is virus in Windows Developer Preview

Answers

  • If Norton doesn't work correctly, Windows 8 has a built in antivirus.

Since Windows 8 has not been released yet not all programs are going to work with it. Some programs are very specific about the operating system version, so you might have to wait until they release Norton for Windows 8.

You could check if Norton has released a new version that works with Windows 8:

  •  Windows 8 has a built in antivirus. i know but windows security essentials. not catch all virus,  when i install  Norton suddenly it shows explorer is a virus, it requires to restart my system after restart metroapps?where is that no windows ! iam just uninstall  windows developer preview and install windows 7 sp1 it works well in my system now iam happy ................ iam using avira in indows developer preview but it didnt work well i only trust in avira because it blocked the autorun.inf virus
Well mate I been using Microsoft Security essentials for a long time starting from beta and i never got any virus. It caught few when I use someones flash drive. As if now you have to wait till Norton or Avira to update their program to work with Windows8.

  • Not to start a flamewar or to be offensive but..Norton? seriously?
I guess the problem is that Norton isn't updated for Windows8 yet. Try using a different (free) antivirus, such as windows security essentials.
