programmatically add a user lookup

I know this is slightly off topic. However, I am stuck in SPPurgatory,

I have a c# webpart that will allow users to add participants and I would like to programmatically add a user lookup for the end user.  I have no idea what control to use. ...

you can use a gridview that is bound to a listing of membership items (membership provider), I am not sure if you are using asp.net membership provider or not...but you can still just :select * from ......with those tables as well

Answer is the UserEditor.  I know it sounds like you will be editing users but not so.  UserEditor is what youd expect from a People Picker.   I am highly agitated over the control name being so cryptic.  ...
