Seems to be like a network issue. Any thoughts on it. Pls share your views.

  • Well, the error messgae looks obvious: The endpoint has a problem resolving the DNS name. Can you ping the name from the boxes and telnet to port 5022?

  • Is this the first time you tried the failover?

Also ensure that the PRIMARY and MIRROR instances are entered in FIREWALL exceptions lists along with PORTs that are used here.

  • Hi,

    Tks for the reply.

When there was a issue, i got few request timed out.

Can you pls explain more on this point:The endpoint has a problem resolving the DNS name.

My Witness server is a VM machine.

Will adding entries in host file will resolve the problem. Is that sensible.

    Pls share your views.

  • Can you please try to telnet on ports bi-direction from principal, mirror and witness and post the error message?

Can you please check password expired or any changes made for account under which end points configured.

  • Hi Ram,

    Tks for the reply.

I just want to capture few things here. The problem was there for a period of 5 mins and then the mirroring was working. But i found those information from my errorlog.

If there is a password expiry or any changes then it should not work until the problem gets resolved. In this case it worked automatically. I assume that it is a network issuye for a period of five mins and then the nw was stable.

Any thoughts. Whether my assumption is right. Pls clarify.

  • If their is network issues for 5 mins - mirroring will catchup automatically once it re-connected.
