Blend 3: Collapsing Grids as a form of Navigation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi
Using Visual States, it's very easy to change the Appearance Property of Controls from Visibility.Visible to Collapsed and this method seems to be an effective way of creating a means of navigation (from on Form (Grid) to another).
I do have an issue with this method however.
Every time I make a Grid Visible I have to Collapse the other Grids again (they seem to "automatically" revert back to a Visible state). This is a bit of a pain but it still works out.
A more annoying problem is that the initial Grid "flashes" before the switch from one Grid to another takes place which looks clunky.
    Is this to be expected?
How can I achieve a smoother flow from one Form(Grid) to another?
    Any ideas will be appreciated.
    Thanks, Mark.

  • Hi
    Found my problem.
My default transition for the VisualStateGroup was set at 0.3s changed it to 0s and in my XAML changed the Duration="00:00:00.0000000".
Now there's no "Flashing" of the initial Grid :-)
    All sorted !!!
    Thanks, Mark.
