dll loading error in windows embedded standard 8 RRS feed

  • Question

  • we have created a dll under visual studio 2013 and Windows x64. The dll contains list of functions or API written in C. There is an application which loads the dll and call the corresponding API, all this works well with Windows 7 x64 PC.

we are migrating our OS to Windows embedded 8 standard.we are able to run almost everything, which we used on Win 7 x64 PC except the dll is not loading and giving the error number as 193.

we do not know, what may be the cause for dll loading error, please let me know if anything done with this to overcome this error.

  • The error means that your library cannot be loaded.

The most common issue: It's a 32bit library loaded into a 64bit process or vice versa.

But as you're having problems on Windows Embedded, this error can also mean, that your library has dependencies, which cannot be resolved. WE has different or not all libraries as your Windows 7 development machine. Use dumpbin in the Developer Command Prompt on your dev machine to inspect the dependencies.
