Is there any command to turn off Windows User Account Control? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Expert,

I'm developing scripts to install software and I found the User ACCOUNT Control blocks the installation.  I'd like to turn off the user account control "by command".   I search the web but didn't find useful info.  I'm now modifying the registry directly to workaround the issue but I believe there should be command from Microsoft to turn it off.  Can somebody know it share your ideas?  Thank you very much.

    Eric

  • Hi,

    Disable UAC

    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    Enable UAC

    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

After you enable or disable UAC, you will have to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.

    Regards !
