How to create a table using a console window of sample Northwind database RRS feed

All replies

  • Try to ignore that; it is incorrect. Use the normal table designer to create the tables.

Also note that this article is very old, talking about MDB and especially ADP the latter of which has been phased out. Data Access Page has also been deprecated.

Jpg and Png images can now be used in addition to Bmp.

  • In that text they:

Don’t mention to launch some console.

The don’t state there is some console

And the text NEVER mentions the word console.

    However, the formatted “windows” ?

    What they have is this:

The “window” should have replaced “Console” with:

    Table Properties

    Or

    Form Properties.

So, somewhere along the way, they replaced the word “properties” with console.

But the actual text, actual narrative, and actual instructions? They NEVER mention the word console, nor are you ever given instructions to launch some “console” at any time in that article.

    So they should have used:

    Settings:

    Or

    Property Settings:

So, to modify a form, you use the property sheet for those settings.

To modify a table? Again you use the property sheet for those settings.

All in all? They should be using the word “settings” or “property settings”

But, they NEVER mention at any time to use some console, or launch some console, or ask to to use some console.

    In this context?

Console is the OUPUT of the settings they are asking you to use, not that some kind of console exists, and most people using access have no idea what a console is anyway.
