Cert failure - 5.2 Performance and Resource Management RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi we just submitted an application that failed cert for two items under 5.2.  Both deal with where the expectation when pressing the hardware Back button is to close the current page and return to the previous page.  Both cases cited in the cert report are for screens that appear to have a previous page but in reality do not.

When the application launches we show a screen with a few "quick menu" choices - common actions to get you into the app faster.  This is an optional screen which can be disabled.  When an option is picked we close that screen and proceed into the main application - there is no logical reason to return to the previous screen because those options can be found by navigating the normal menu structure.

For the second item, our app has a little wizard which allows the user to restore their licenses if they change devices or re-install.  At the end of the restoration process we close the wizard and proceed into the main application.  There is no reason to return to the previous screen because it is nothing but a "restoration successful" message.

The actions in our application are core pieces of our design; they are not uncommon and they exist in other Windows Phone apps.  How can we get past these certification failures?
