Import big GML file into existing DB structure RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I need to insert really big gml file into existing DB structure. It contains about 75-80 features (future tables) and they are in relations (some of them with some others), and almost all are connected with 3 main tables which stores geometry.

These tables are connected by same named column, wich as a primary key in best part of tables.

I read about inserting into one to two tables, but what is the 'simpliest' way to import this very big file? How to connect so many of them?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Hi,

Have you tried SQL Server Spatial Tools ,such as Shape2SQL? But with the tool, you need to transform the gml file to shp file.

Or you can use the static method GeomFromGml to import GML file into SQL Server.
