Hand pointer coordinates... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am developing an App that enables object moving around the screen with Kinect v2. But it seems that I can not access kinect hand cursor. I was trying to get positioning of hand on the screen throught CoordinateMapper, but that points are from the whole space, not user hand movement on the screen. Can you help me on this matter?

I want to get hand pointer coordinates on my computer screen (for ex. X=500, Y=920). Thank you.

  • Please look at Controls Basics samples. For xaml or wpf, use KinectRegion element.

Let us know how that works.

  • I might have missed it, but I cannot find any screen coordinates mapping in the given samples...

I have looked into Kinect Gesture Recognizer and Kinect Pointer Point

I also watched a video on Channel9 about KinectPointerPoint (demo) but there are no specific details on how to achieve that functionality.

Basically what I want to achieve is: when I grab an object on the screen, I want to get position of hand where the grab was performed.

    Thank you
