Azure Managed Cache migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using Azure Managed Cache, however, the currently recommended strategy suggests that we should use Azure Cache with Redis. Is there a migration path for applications implemente using Azure Managed Cache? Please provide pointers. Azure Managed Cache has a local cache feature for re-fetching, does Azure Redis have this too?

    Thanks

  • It is possible to migrate from Managed Cache to Redis Cache (I believe that is what Manu meant as well).

The Shared Cache to Redis Cache migration applies to Managed Cache to Redis Cache migration as well.

You do rightly point out that certain capabilities of the Managed Cache Client do not exist yet on the Redis Client. For example Local cache. However local cache can be implemented by an Application using the Redis Pub/Sub feature for notifications.
