How to append due date to a list in Sharepoint? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

How to append due date to a list in Sharepoint?

I have a list in WSS 3.0 where many people work on a particular task. So Due Date goes on changing frequently. But I need to keep a record of Due Dates. How to do it?

    Please help!

  • If you just want to keep Due date old values on every update for history purpose or reference purpose only, You can create a Single line of text column in the same list and store Due Date old values in this new column as a comma seperated values. In any case whereever you want to keep the old due dates upon updates, You need to write Event handlers for your list. SharePoint event handlers will allow you to capture old values in ItemUpdating event. Here is one article that describe on how to write it and package it to deploy
