32-bit vs 64-bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running an SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 both 64-bit. In the advanced properties of SSCM the value of Running under 64 bit OS = No. In the Properties of SQL Server Mgmt Studio the value of Platform = NT x64.

How is the value for Running under 64 bit OS No when it is running on a 64 bit OS? How does this get corrected?

  • This is OK!

Running Under 64bit OS indicates whether this 32bit service is running on a 64bit OS.

Because you installed SQL SERVER 64 bit , this option shows NO!
