Can background desktop app be pushed to the foreground in front of metro app?

    Question

  • suppose there's is a program that is spawned on the desktop for some reason and it is a normal windowed program, say for example notepad or something, while the user is engaged in the metro app. Will the background program prompt or pre-empt or somehow push it itself to foreground? If this is needed, how can it be done?

  • Hi vxxxxx,

while still engaged in any metro application, take your pointer to the extreme left of the your screen, you will see a small window crop up there, click on it, or just give a slight flip to the right with the pointer, you will see all previously opened windows emerging one after the other. You can do the same with your finger while working on a touch screen. All previously opened apps that haven't been shut down remain suspended till you bring them to the foreground.
