Pivot table problem with Access 2010 Professional on Windows 2010 pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

With Access 2010 Professional the Pivot table and graphs don't seem to work in Windows 10 pro.

I am using an Access 2010 application that connects to a SQL server.

When opening the form that should contain the pivot table the error is:

File system error: An error occurred while opening the "C:\Users\<name>\AppData\Local\Temp\398_5BC3B10.cub' local cube file.

After the error, when I go to that directory, the file is present and seems ok as I can open it with Access 2010 Professional.

I also contains the data I expected. Yet, it gives that error.

I have searched the Internet but did not find any solution.

I anybody can help me it would be really nice.

    Thanks,

    Rene

  • Start by performing an office repair through the Control Panel.

  • Thank you for your advice.

I tried it, but it didn't matter.

  • Extra information:

I have started a Northwind database and created a Pivot Table from on of the Northwind tables to see if it would make any difference.

    Same problem.

Some more details: when I switch to Pivot Table view, it does allow me to drag and drop the fields.

BUT: as soon as I drop the first one, it already gives the error specified in my first post.

If I drop another field, it tell's me that the database already exists. (I guess it's referring to the cube file.)

  • I wonder if it's some type of permission issue.  Check the permissions on that folder.  Another idea would be try launching the access exe (msaccess.exe) as administrator and see if that changes the behavior.

  • Tried all that already.

    Does not help at all.
