bug in list item rendering - reporting services RRS feed

pretty sure this is a bug when it comes to rdlc files.

Create new textbox > Create expression

    = "<ol type=""1""><li> item 1</li><ol type=""a""><li>subitem1</li></ol><p>paragraph</p></li><li>item 2 - should be number 2</li></ol>"

Set expression to render as HTML

    Expression output is

    1. Item 1

    1. item 2 - should be number 2

Obviously the markup posted should put item 2 as number 2 in the list. Even using <li value="2"> does not override the render rules. Can you please explain how to work around this issue? I can deal somewhat with the fact that it is ignoring the type values as well but the resetting of the number due to the copy after the innner ol is an issue.

I could seriously use some advice on working around this issue. I have tons of reports that use the sub-ordered list and it is pretty frustrating having the numbering sequences startup again as soon as you insert the smallest bit of extra html. Any advice/help is appreciated.
