First submission with EV certificate - questions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm preparing for a new submission and it will be the first one using the new EV certificate process. There's several points I'm not clear on:

    1. Does this replace the old method of installing a pfx file to the studio system and signing with that? Or do we need to do both (pfx AND EV certificate)?

    2. It looks like we need the EV certificate, not the standard, correct?

    3. After purchasing, we get a USB key, correct? How do we use that to sign the submission file?

    4. When accessing the sysdev dashboard, it informs me that my company doesn't have an EV certificate. After we purchase, how do I update my account with the certificate so I can get past this message and proceed with a submission?

    5. Anything to be aware of when purchasing? Is Symantec the preferred source?

    Thanks much!

  • Hi,

to update sysdev dashboard with new EV certificate, you need to download winqual.exe and sign that exe file in EV system where you inserted USB key.

After you sign winqual.exe, upload to sysdev portal. then dashboard will get updated with new EV cert.

I am not sure for other questions

    Thanks, Krishna
