Laptop Battery Not Detected RRS feed

  • I have Acer 3830TG With windows 7 and then i installed windows 8 on that,and the problem is only 1 : The Battery is not detected , then i boot to windows 7 ( I use Dual boot),the battery indicator shows up,and if i take a look the task manager the cpu frequency fluctuate based on the system load, so i think the power management works , can anyone give me a solution please

  • Normally you can lookup %windir%\inf or Windows should show you the list of available drivers for your device, or you can look at catalog.update.microsoft.com; however, you'd rarely find this driver over at MSFT catalog.

    I'll look if I have this driver in my setup tomorrow when I get to my WDP PC.

  • I am only assuming here: could you possibly install the ACPI device driver. What if you add this device?

    I know that isn't shading much light onto resolving your problem, but still.

    tried that step but found some problems

    1.my laptop battery can't be removed(it's soldered to motherboard)

    2.there are only Microsoft ac adapter in device manager

  • where i can download the acpi device driver? as far as i know the acpi driver is available in windows and automatically installs

    Thanks, I tried to install inf the inf from c:\windows\inf\acpipmi.inf and scan for hardware changes in device manager

    then it works,Thank you
