Reading a document's custom property RRS feed

  • Question

  • This question is regarding using the office.js API for Office 2013 apps (Task Pane).

I created a .docx (document) and added a custom property. To be clear, the way I did this was:

    • In Word 2013, with the file open, click File
    • Under the Info section, click the Properties dropdown, and click Advanced Properties
      This opens a property page.
    • Click the Custom tab
    • Add a new property

I would like to access these custom properties. The Office.context.document.customXmlParts is not the correct property to access this. Is this possible?

    Thanks,
    Jayson

  • Hi JaysonGo,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN Forum.

Apps for Office provides a new way to work with Office application, yet it has its own limitation, it cannot replace Office PIA. As far as I know, your request is impossible to realize.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,
