  • Hi edinpuzic,

    As you have a structured address, why are you using a blob string call?  Bing maps has the ability to do a best effort on a random string (This is the call you are making) but you can get much better results if you give the structured call.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/bingmaps/rest-services/locations/find-a-location-by-address

    The Bing Maps documentation has some great help https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/bingmaps/getting-started/bing-maps-api-best-practices and an explanation of the differences of the call types and results.

    For example, a call like this:

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Locations/US/NY/10001/New%20York/55%20Hudson%20Yards?o=xml&key={BingMapsKey}

    Says "Starting in the USA, go to NY State then area code 10001 in New York City and then find the address"

    While your call says "Given this string of characters, find me the closest match in the world"

    For a final check, "https://www.bing.com/maps?q=55+hudson+yards+nyc" does give me a building in the garment district of NYC so I can confirm the address is in our data.

    Sincerely,

  • Thank you for Replay,

    But this call is also returning wrong address http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Locations/US/NY/10001/New%20York/55%20Hudson%20Yards?o=xml&key={BingMapsKey}

    This address that I'm "Looking for" is in Manhattan not Brooklyn.

    Other addresses are working good.

  • Hi edinpuzic,

    I have escalated this request that the location aligned query is also failing.  Note as I explained it should be giving higher priority to that Zip code under that aligned call rather than the bulk query string call.

    UPDATE: "Hudson Yards" is a development that is around 30th to 34th street in Manhattan. The building number has a corresponding Street address, for example "10 Hudson Yards" is actually "501 West 30th Street, New York, NY 10001". See https://www.commercialcafe.com/commercial-property/us/ny/new-york/10-hudson-yards/

    In your case the search https://www.bing.com/search?q=55+hudson+yards+address identifies the address as "550 West 34th Street, NY, New York, 10001"  (Also shown at https://www.commercialcafe.com/commercial-property/us/ny/new-york/55-hudson-yards/)

    So please use the Street address to geocode, not the neighborhood/building name.  the team has validated that the street address does resolve.

    Sincerely,

    IoTGirl
