    Question

  • Hi Guys,

I have setup 3 web role, each located in Asia, North Europe and West Europe region. I'm planning to setup CDN for the instance in Asia and instances in Europe will fetch the static contents from this CDN. What are the implication on cost with this kind of setup comparing to setup that has CDN for each region?

  • There are two good topics on the subject:

    and

In itself, Storage is dirt cheap, but by setting up CDN in each region, one additional advantage you may get in is free bandwidth cost if you choose to have any computations against storage. If it is not an option you are exploring, single CDN is fine. With single CDN, you have single storage and no duplicacy of data to manage.

  • Hi zahari.macha,

I work for CDNetworks (www.cdnetworks.com), a Tier 1 global content delivery provider based out of California. We help companies accelerate their websites, dynamic web applications, ERPs, etc. globally, including tough to reach markets such as China, Russia and Latin America.

I'd like to learn some more specifics about your project to see how we can help - can you provide me with your contact info so we can discuss?

  • Excuse me, but I'm confused a little bit. I'm joined the team of site developers just recently. I don't understand, not any CDN can cope with long destinations, right? For example, we use  http://cdnsun.com/ and have servers in Europe, but we also have users in Canada and China. Can CDN host our servers there? Or it will much expensive, ah?

  • Regarding cost: I can recommend https://www.keycdn.com

It really helped my lower my costs without compromising on performance especially in Asia where you do content delivery as well.
