Build Publisher Policy Assembly as a VS2008 Project? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi folks,

I've been building a publisher policy assembly to accompany a strong-named assembly in the GAC, using a batch file. I'd like to know whether these can be built in a VS2008 project such that I can use the project output in the installer I use for the assembly it's supposed to go with? Been trying to get this working, but I'm not having much luck...

  • VS 2008 and newer version don't have any template for this. Publisher policy assemblies are created at the command line using a .NET utility named al.exe (the assembly linker).

Batch file is the way to run the al.exe command.
