How to speed up a network connection? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have a network-based application that like the others consisted of two parts, Server and Client using TcpListener (for server) and TcpClient (for client :D). And for sending and receiving i first made an instance of NetworkStreamer [ new NetworkStream(Socket); ] and by using this streamer, for writing, i made an instance of System.IO.BinaryWriter and for reading, i used an instance of System.IO.BinaryReader.

That was a summery of my network program. actually my program is a remote Track Pad, Mobile Devices like iPad work as a Track Pad for Computers running Windows OS. Everything is OK except speed, i know that i should use UDP instead of TCP but before changing my code, i want to make sure that trying UDP will solve my problem, actually i want to know that whether UDP is the fastest or not, and if not which way is faster and how?

    Any help will be pleased.

    Thanks, Regards
