RSSFeed Walkthrough Build Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I get to the "Adding the RSS Part to the Application Shell" step in this walkthrough, and the build results in the following error. Could someone please assist.

    Error 1 'RssReader.RssPartView' does not contain a definition for 'Navigator_NavigationItemNotFound' and no extension method 'Navigator_NavigationItemNotFound' accepting a first argument of type 'RssReader.RssPartView' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Visual Studio Codename Orcas\Projects\RssReader\RssReader\RssPartView.xaml 19 155 RssReader

    Hi oldevil,

    Thanks for your question! So, did you name your event handler Navigator_NavigationItemNotFound or navigator_NavigationItemNotFound as it was in the walkthrough?

    In either case you need to name your event handler in code-behind accordingly:

    VB.NET

    Code Snippet

    Code SnippetPrivate Sub navigator_NavigationItemNotFound(ByVal sender As _
        Object, ByVal e As NavigationItemNotFoundEventArgs)

        Me.Part.UrlNotFound.Execute(e.Text)

    End Sub

    C#

    Code Snippet

    Code Snippetprivate void navigator_NavigationItemNotFound(object sender,
        NavigationItemNotFoundEventArgs e)
    {
        this.Part.UrlNotFound.Execute(e.Text);
    }

    Make sure the event handler name you've specified in XAML muches the method name in code-behind.

    Hope this helps!
