Lightswitch realtime screen designer not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Scenario:

    • I have create a "Hello Word" LS application (Silverlight client)
    • I have verified that the realtime screen designer works (can persist changes)
    • I now enable Sharepoint for the application (no other changes made)
    • The realtime screen designer has stopped working ("The last change wasn't successfully persisted. Please shut down the running application. Error: Sending message to designer failed. Designer may not be running.")

The application is not using any extensions. The realtime screen designer is not working for ANY of my SP-enabled LS apps, but is ok for all non SP-enabled LS apps.

    I have deleted the

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\ComponentModelCache and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\ManifestCache

folders, but to no avail. Not sure what else I could try.

I am using VS 2013 Ultimate with Update2.

Does anyone have the realtime designer working with  Sharepoint-enabled LS (SL client)?

Any ideas what my problem might be or how to fix it?

    Thanks,

    bluewater

  • I have this problem every once in a while with non Sharepoint apps.

This post suggested change the client type, recompile and then change back.

Not sure if this works for Sharepoint apps?

  • Ian,

thank you - I had indeed not seen that post.

Unfortunately for SP-enabled apps VS won't let me change the client type at all ("Desktop" greyed out, only "Web" allowed). And it seems I cannot temporarily un-enable SP either.
