Backup Maintenance Plan RRS feed

  • Hello,

    When creating a backup maintenance plan, in the backup database task my DB is not showing. All that is listed are the system DB's. The user DB is set as simple recovery but still should show up. Any reason why it not's not showing up?

  • Hi Gsurfdune,

    Please make sure that you have created backup maintenance plan successfully.
    How to create a maintenance plan: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189953(v=sql.105).aspx.

    After you create the maintenance plan, please refresh it to see the newly created maintenance plan.

    The user database is set as simple recovery. The SQL Server will not allow you to back up the log. Databases with simple recovery will be excluded when using Maintenance Plan Wizard.

  • Hello,

    It will not show up if you chose the log backup option and it's not in bulk logged or full recovery model. Also make sure you have chosen the option that says either 'all databases' if you want ot select form user and system databases or 'user databases only'.
