Interop in partial trust assemblies in Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can I use Interop in Windows Vista when the user is a limited user and/or is a partial trust assembly?

I have this doubt because I have to deploy one application in WVista environments and I'm not pretty sure if it will work :P

    Cheers.

  • Yes you can. You may require that your assembly contains the appropriate declarative permissions to allow for the access of the protected resource. The easier way to do it is to write the application and test it on Vista to see if it runs correctly. If not, then you can add security incrementally. I do not advocate starting by adding security elevation first - that's contrary to the principle of least privilege.
