Visual C# 2010: Data source configuration wizard, missing data source RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not sure if I'm doing wrong or if I'm mistaken but here's the issue.

    1. I create a new C# windows form application project.

    2. I go to add a new data source from the Data -> Add new data source...

    3. I select database as the first option.

    4. I am then presented with either Dataset or Entity Data Model, I choose Entity Data Model

    5. I pick Generate from database next

    6. I pick New connection

    7. I am now only presented with two options, Microsoft SQL Server Compat 3.5 and Microsoft SQL Server Database file. The option of using "Microsoft SQL Server" is NOT present at all.

Am I missing something? A reference file maybe? I have System.Data and have tried adding various references with no luck. This doesn't seem to be a problem with the Visual Web Developer.
