OPs marking Answers RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello

I was very hesitant to post this discussion, but I thought I'll do since I might not be the only one with this issue.

I noticed that OPs tend to mark Moderators and Answerers answers more than any other contributer for some odd reason.
While this decision is completely up to the person posting the question and what works and what doesn't, I noticed many times that if two people post the same answer some OPs tend to mark the one for the moderator as an answer.

While we are all here to learn and help others learn, but since I'm not a moderator, Answerer, or MVP, I think the Answers that I give are the only way to show that I'm active on this forum.

I just hope if any contributor has any comments about a specific thread, that there is a way to pass the comments to a moderator to look into the thread.

    Thank you

  • This discussion is NOT appropriate for the T-SQL forum. Moved to Feedback Forum.

I suggest you read my last post to this thread:

You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

  • Moving to the Suggestions forum.  Abdallah, this is off-topic for Transact-SQL, and as you know by know, the Moderator thread was moved as well.

Rest assured that there are ways the moderators communicate about threads of all types.

In my experience, I haven't seen OPs giving statistically more weight to moderators as opposed to other answerers.

  • Arnie, that's why I was hesitant about posting and didn't know where to post.

  • Phil,

    I greatly appreciate your feedback.
To be honest with you I didn't want to post a thread because I just felt that my "complaint" might not have strong base, and it could be misunderstood at the time I'm trying to build my credibility on the forum.
I just wanted to make a suggestion that there should be a way for any participant to may be communicate with a moderator about a specific thread, and I didn't find a place to post that.
There was a thread where moderators resolved couple of the threads, but I know Arnie moved that today as well which is fine.

I'm not really concerned with the points as much as making sure that the right answers(s) are marked, and the efforts are noticed.

Again, thank you for your efforts in making this forum better.
