Azure vm sharepoint 2013 dev environment setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to setup a sharepoint 2013 dev environment on an azure virtual machine. I'm struggling with two major problems:
    1. The visual studio 2013 takes very long to start.
    2. The sharepoint performance could be better.
I'm using the A4 standard tier machine size (8 cores 14gb ram).
I know connecting more than one disks helps (500 iops per disk, right?), but that didn't improved the issues above too much.
    Any tunning tips? Configuration advices?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

I don't familiar with sharepoint 2013, you said "The visual studio 2013 takes very long to start", as far as I know, Visual Studio will take a long time when you first open because of the initial configuration, if you need a long time to start every time, I think this issue may be related to VM, I suggest you move to azure virtual machine forum, maybe you'll get better support at that forum, the forum link is: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=WAVirtualMachinesforWindows
