How to use Play To with custom audio decoder

    Question

  • I have an audio decoder MFT that outputs MFAudioFormat_Float and MFAudioFormat_PCM stereo and 5.1. The decoder works fine, but when I'm using Play To I get a debug exception "Feature not implemented" in IMFTransform::GetOutputCurrentType. I can hear an audio stream on the receiver device but it isn't what it should be. Can you tell me what does Play To expect from my decoder?

  • I've solved it. It didn't have anything to do with Play To, I wasn't setting the output buffer size properly. Now it works fine.

    Thank you

  • Hi,

How about your decoder without play to feature, just play a local media file with media element control?

    Best regards,
    Jesse

That works fine. The only time I get that exception and have issues with the audio output is when I am using Play To to stream the media on to another device
