Custom Error Handling Issue with IIS 6.0 + ASP .NET 2.0 + Windows Server 2k3 (SP1) RRS feed

I think this might have been discussed before but still after reading threads on different forums , I still could not figure out how to put ASP .NET 2.0 Exception Handling into 1.0 mode.

Bascially we have a web site developed in ASP .NET 2.0 and VS2k5. I wrote Error Logging and emailing functionality in the Application_Error event in the global.asax.cs...

It works fine when developers use VWD of VS2k5. But when we pushed our web site to Testing Environment , error handling stoped working.

Testing environment has IIS 6.0 and it's a windows 2003 server machine.

Every time an unhandled exception occurs it is logged into event viewer as a warning by ASP .NET 2.0.

I did following setting in ASPNET.config on the server.

    configuration> <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p><runtime> <o:p></o:p><legacyUnhandledExceptionPolicy enabled="true" /> <o:p></o:p></runtime> <o:p></o:p>

Then killed Wp3p.exe (i.e worker Process). Also did IISReset several times.

But it was all in vain. After doign this setting ASP .NET 2.0 is still logging error into event viewer.

I've read MSDN post for this problem but I am quite reluctant to write a handler for error handling.

Any idea what could possibly be wrong here ?
