WiFi drivers for different chipsets for WIn10, WEC7 etc RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear experts,

We have being using Intel based Host processor in our products with different Windows operating system flavors like WEC7, Win10, WEH6.5, WM etc. As we start supporting new and latest WiFi modules and chipsets from different manufacturers, we are unable to get the device drivers for these WiFi modules. Normally the chipset/module manufacturers are providing driver source code support for Linux, Android etc....but not for Windows. I have googled and seen links on NDIS5.0 and NDIS6.x etc,  but unable to proceed further with just these details. How can we overcome this problem?

    a. Is there any cookbook for porting device driver from say ath9k/ath10k backports to Windows flavors?

    b. Any detailed documentation with Application notes on device driver layers to integrate into Windows?

  • The drivers will have to be written from scratch, either by you or a consultant. Having the source to a working Linux/Android driver would drastically reduce the time required to write a Windows driver
