I am curious if it is possible to allow the instance of azure to have our web.config in the database that can be defined somewhere...

Do we even need a web.config? Or can we run the application <configuration></configuation> from the database?

We do not want the connectionstring to be in the web.config. If possible it would be database xml node that can be accessed through entity.

What is the reason if you dont need connection string in your web config? In ths senario you can add in any xml file and retrive it and load in application cache by reading xml file.

so if my entity model requires a connectionstring i can simply load into "application cache" the configuration? This would have to know which environment it was in in order to get the correct connectionstring..?
