Upgrading SQL Express Edition 2012 to Standard 2014

Question
-
Hi there,
We originally installed our main system database with SQL Express 2012, but now we find that we need to upgrade to Standard. Is it possible to upgrade this in-place or will it involve removing SQL Express and then installing SQL Standard and reconfiguring everything..
regards,
Jonathan.

Yes it is very much possible as Ashwin noted. Just make sure SQL Server 2012 express is at Sp1 before you perform inplace upgrade from SS 2012 express to SS 2014 standard.
